AFRICA FOOD DISTRIBUTION SA (AFD) is committed to protecting the privacy of users of this website (the “Site") and will do everything in its power to ensure that the personal data of users is treated with respect for their fundamental rights and freedoms as well as their personal dignity, in particular with regard to confidentiality. AFD has compiled this privacy policy to provide you with a brief understanding of how we will collect, use, share and secure personal data about you. It also describes the choices you have regarding use, access, and rectification of Personal Data about you. We may ask users to provide us with certain personal information in order to provide our services. Therefore, we would like to explain to you the procedures and the way in which we process the data that you communicate to us. This Privacy Policy will also provide you with all the information allowing you to give your consent to the processing of your personal data in explicit and informed terms, where applicable. As a general rule, all information and data that you provide to us, or that we otherwise collect, in connection with the Site, will be used by AFD in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (“GDPR”). What information about you do we collect?

Why do we process this information? Purposes of processing and legal bases

AFD intends to use your personal data collected via the Site, for the following purposes:

  • For marketing, promotional and advertising purposes, including direct marketing activities, as well as surveys, research, statistics or market research, by email, SMS, push notifications, pop-up banners, instant messaging, telephone calls by operator , the AFD pages on social networks, concerning AFD products and services (“Marketing”), and to send you offers, promotions and other information about our products and services. Processing for these purposes is based on your consent. You are never required to give AFD your consent to process your personal data for these purposes. If you choose not to do so, there will be no consequences (in the event of a lack of consent, you will no longer be able to receive commercial communications from AFD). You have the right to withdraw your consent at any time.
  • For future marketing, promotional and advertising purposes, by sending you marketing emails about products and services provided by AFD that are the same or similar to those you have previously requested using the Site (“soft-spam”). The processing for the aforementioned purposes is based on AFD's legitimate interest in sending you marketing e-mails about products and services provided by AFD and which are identical or similar to those you have previously purchased on the Website.   • Public authorities, institutions and bodies, in accordance with the law in force or the binding decisions of said authorities, institutions and bodies. We may also disclose Personal Data about you when we believe in good faith that disclosing it is necessary to protect your safety and the safety of others, investigate fraud, or respond to an administrative request.

Data transmission

Personal data may be transmitted to other countries of the European Union where the premises or servers of AFD or any of one of its suppliers are located. Personal data must not be transmitted outside the territory of the European Union.

Security of personal data

All personal data collected and processed through the Website will be stored and processed in such a way as to minimize the risk of destruction, loss (including accidental loss), unauthorized access/use or use incompatible with the initial purpose for which the data was collected. This activity is ensured thanks to the security and organizational measures put in place by AFD.

Retention of personal data

As a general rule, AFD will only keep your personal data for the time strictly necessary to fulfill the purpose for which it was collected:
  • personal data processed for the Service delivery will be kept by AFD for the time strictly necessary to fulfill the said purposes. the information will, however, be kept longer if it is useful for us to file any complaint about the services or to protect the interests of AFD in the event of a possible liability related to the Provision of services .
  • personal data processed for activities of Marketing et Profiling will be kept by AFD from the moment you have given your consent until the latter is withdrawn. In the event of non-withdrawal of consent, you will be asked to renew it at regular intervals every 24 months. Once the consent is withdrawn (or not given, following a request for renewal), the personal data will no longer be used for these purposes. However, they may still be retained by AFD in order to protect AFD's interests in the event of any liability related to this processing. the personal data processed for the soft-spam will be retained by AFD from the time you provide them to AFD until you object to this processing. In the event of an objection, the personal data will no longer be used for these purposes. However, they may still be retained by AFD, in particular with a view to protecting AFD's interests in the event of possible liability related to this processing.
  • The personal data processed for the Compliance will be kept by AFD for a period in accordance with the specific legal obligations for the processing of personal data.
  • Personal data to prevent Misuse/Fraud et Analytical data  will be kept by AFD for the duration strictly necessary to achieve the purposes for which they were collected.
After this period, all data must be erased or anonymized, except for data that the law requires us to keep longer.
